What Happened

Areas authorities are investigating a crash that killed two women at FM 510 near San Benito, TX on September 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened when a southbound Dodge Ram 1500 allegedly ran a stop sign before colliding with a Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Kona. Officials say 97-year-old Mauricia Cruz-Rodriguez and 62-year-old Blanca Mauricia Zamarano, suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Sources say 66-year-old Rogelio Campos Leal was arrested on two counts of criminally negligent homicide. Additional information was not immediately available.
