What Happened

A 22-year-old was killed in a rollover crash at Alabama St in El Paso, TX on January 5th, 2023. Officers believe it happened around 5:30 p.m. and expressed suspicion that speed and alcohol may have played a part. Investigators a Dodge Caravan operated by 46-year-old Luis Pedro Garcia was on Aurora Ave approaching the intersection with Alabama St before allegedly running a stop sign. Following this, the Dodge is alleged to have struck a vehicle operated by Paul Eli Ferris before continuing into a parking lot. It struck an undisclosed number of unoccupied vehicles in the lot and overturned. A passenger in the Dodge, 22-year-old Montana Joe Stevens, suffered fatal injuries. Garcia was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries while Ferris was transported with non-severe injuries.
