What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officers are investigating a crash that killed a child at US 377 in Kimble County, TX on February 3rd, 2022. Police are saying it involved an SUV and 18-wheeler. According to initial investigation, the SUV, operated by Martha Gabriela Ramirez, was headed northbound when it lost control on the icy roads. The vehicle spun into the path of an 18-wheeler in a southbound lane and the two crashed head-on. Police say five of the occupants in the vehicle were not restrained by seatbelts and ejected from the vehicle. A child in the vehicle was killed while Ramirez and four other passengers were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional details were not immediately available.
