What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that injured a driver at Bissonnet St in Houston, TX on April 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:15 p.m. Officials say a Nissan Xterra operated by 63-year-old Oneyda Rivas was headed westbound on Bissonnet St when it collided with a commercial truck at the intersection with W Sam Houston Pkwy. Police allege one of the vehicles may have disregarded a traffic signal before the collision. Rivas had injuries believed to be serious in nature. The other driver, a 43-year-old Harper, KS man, was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
