What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 36 in Comanche County, TX on January 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:10 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 42-year-old Phoenix, AZ man was headed northwest on Hwy 36 nearing County Rd 125. At the same time, Toyota Highlander operated by 58-year-old Paula Jackson Phelix was headed northbound on County Rd 125 approaching Hwy 36. Police say as the Toyota turned, it collided with truck. Investigators allege the vehicle may have turned from an incorrect side of the road. The collision left Phelix with serious injuries.
