What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 377 in Westlake, TX on September 8th, 2022. Officers believe the crash happened around 1:18 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Durango operated by a 28-year-old Euless man is alleged to have failed to control its speed before colliding with the rear of a Toyota Tacoma stopped at a red light. The impact pushed the Toyota into a stopped Nissan Murano, operated by 58-0year-old Phillip Thompson Douglas. The collision left Douglas with serious injuries. The driver of the Tacoma was reportedly uninjured while the Dodge driver is alleged to have fled the scene on-foot. Additional information was not available.
