What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at I-635 in Mesquite, TX on March 9th, 2024. Police believe the incident happened around 2:32 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle authorities were not able to identified was southbound prior to striking the rear of a southbound Cadillac SRX. The impact is said to have caused the Cadillac to become disabled, leaving it sat in a lane of travel as a Hyundai Accent approached. The Hyundai is said to have struck the disabled Cadillac, the Hyundai next being struck by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling behind it. The suspect vehicle that struck the Cadillac allegedly fled the scene following the initial crash while the driver of the Hyundai, a 20-year-old Rockwall woman who was not publicly identified, was seriously injured, reports say. There were no other reported injuries and no additional information available.
