What Happened

Slaton Police are investigating a work incident that killed one person at Division St in Slaton, TX on April 25th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. Reports indicate 62-year-old Santos Galicia-Hernandez was working on-site near large stacks of cotton. Under unclear circumstances, officials say Galicia-Hernandez was caught between the cotton stacks and a piece of equipment being used to compress the stacks, suffering fatal injuries at the scene. Authorities had no additional information to share.
