What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Hwy 158 in Ector County, TX on May 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Investigators allege a passenger vehicle collided with a semi-truck after one of the vehicles may have run a stop sign at the intersection with FM 1936. The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Shane Pena-Tarango, suffered fatal injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Kiara Reeves, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
