What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman and three children at Hwy 146 in Polk County, TX on November 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. Officials say a Buick Lucerne lost control for unknown reasons before veering into an opposite lane, striking a GMC pickup truck. Officials say the driver of the Buick, identified as 34-year-old Shemikia Brown, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Also killed were three children in the vehicle. Sources say a fourth child was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the GMC, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Gorman, was uninjured, sources say.
