What Happened

Vidor Police are investigating a crash that killed a bicyclist at I-10 in Vidor, TX on March 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9 p.m. in an area investigators say was poorly lit. 39-year-old Vidor man, Stephen Caleb Smith, was traveling via bicycle on the service road headed eastbound. Smith was struck by a pickup truck  in a westbound outside lane. The collision left Smith with fatal injuries. Additional details were not provided.
