What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at Park Row Dr in Arlington, TX on December 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Mazda 6 is alleged to have failed to yield at the intersection with Susan Dr before turning left. Police say the vehicle turned into and struck a Honda Civic. The impact is said to have caused the Honda to lose control before veering from the road into a sidewalk, striking a pedestrian walking nearby. Following the collision, reports say the Mazda fled the scene before later being located. The pedestrian, identified as 44-year-old Tajudeen Salami, was hospitalized with injuries he died from on January 1st. Reports indicate an Accident Involving Death charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver of the Mazda.
