What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a teen at Katy Freeway in Houston, TX on February 27th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Transit van headed eastbound allegedly performed a lane change before attempting to return to its original lane of travel. While doing so, the vehicle is said to have struck a Ford Ranger that was allegedly disabled in that lane of travel. The driver of the Ford Ranger, age 16, was killed. Two 16-year-old passengers were seriously injured. Additional information was not available.
