What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at FM 347 in Cherokee County, TX on December 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda CR-V operated by a 23-year-old Rusk, TX man was allegedly headed northbound on FM 347 while navigating a curve in the roadway. While doing so, police say the vehicle lost control and veered from the road, veering into a tree line and colliding with a tree. The crash is said to have left both the Rusk man and a 19-year-old passenger seriously injured. Reports further indicate a 23-year-old passenger had less serious injuries. Authorities expressed suspicion of possible alcohol involvement in the incident and had no additional information available.
