What Happened

Investigators are looking into a three-vehicle collision that led to the death of a teen at US 69 in Wood County, TX on January 7th, 2023. Officers say it involved a Ford Explorer, Hyundai Santa De and Dodge Ram. The south eastbound Hyundai is alleged to have crossed a center line into opposite direction traffic, colliding head-on with the Ford. Following this, a Dodge Ram struck the Ford before veering from the road into a tree. 39-year-old Tiffany Sammons and 44-year-old Ashley Martin were killed in the crash. A 16-year-old male also died. One driver involved was confirmed uninjured. No other information was available.
