What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 439 in Bell County, TX on December 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Investigators say a Jeep Cherokee operated by a 34-year-old Copperas Cove man was westbound on FM 439 before veering from its lane into an eastbound shoulder. The vehicle struck a mailbox, reported say, before hitting a culvert and going airborne. The vehicle next overturned, leaving a 31-year-old passenger seriously injured and the 34-year-old driver with less serious injuries.  Additional information was not immediately available.
