What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at New Trail Rd in Bastrop County, TX on August 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla operated by a 19-year-old Taylor man was headed northeast when it allegedly attempted to pass other vehicles ahead that were stopped to allow passengers to exit. As it did, it struck a Dodge Durango operated by an unnamed 52-year-old Elgin man. The Elgin man and a 52-year-old female passenger were both seriously injured in the collision.
