What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at State Hwy 31 in Navarro County, TX on December 4th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:21 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 was headed westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway approaching an eastbound Ford Mustang operated by an unnamed 17-year-old teen. The Mustang is said to have attempted to veer right to avoid a collision before both vehicles collided, seriously injuring the teen and a 7-year-old passenger. The driver of the Dodge, an unnamed 20-year-old Gun Barrel City man, was also seriously injured and officers recommended an Intoxication Assault charge.
