What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed two people at State Hwy 6 in Waller County, TX on March 11th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8:55 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Sienna was westbound on FM 2979, nearing the intersection with State Hwy 6. Authorities allege the Toyota failed to yield right of way from a stop sign before entering into a crossover and colliding with the side of a northbound Chevrolet van. The impact is said to have caused the van to overturn multiple times, ejecting two passengers. The two passengers, identified as 25-year-old Martir Augusto and 31-year-old Henry Rodriguez, were fatally injured. The driver of the van, identified as 36-year-old Vallecious Martinez, was seriously injured. The operator of the Toyota, identified as 38-year-old Jamie Kmiec, had non-life-threatening injuries, reports say. Additional information was not available.
