What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at County Road 1 in Randall County, TX on September 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Explorer operated by a 57-year-old Amarillo man was headed southbound on County Rd 1 when it collided with a Ford Focus backing from a private drive. The driver of the Ford, identified as 22-year-old Vanessa Gonzalez, suffered serious injuries in the collision. The Amarillo man was uninjured and officers recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Assault charge.
