What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 190 in Jasper County, TX on March 23rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet HHR was going eastbound, approaching a curve in the road before losing control for unclear reasons. The vehicle traveled across and eastbound lane through a ditch and onto a private driveway. From there, the vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its roof in a needy eastbound ditch. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 43-year-old William Lawson, was killed in the crash. Police say the tires on the vehicle appeared to have very little tread and may have contributed to the crash. Additional information was not available.
