What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at State Hwy 161 in Irving, TX on November 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:49 a.m. According to investigators, a Lexus IS 350 was northbound on Hwy 161, taking a exit ramp onto Walnut Hill Rd. At the same time, reports say a Ford Fusion was sat disabled and unoccupied in a shoulder. Reports allege the Lexus veered into the shoulder, possibly due to driver intoxication, colliding with the disabled Ford. Police say a 28-year-old passenger in the Lexus was seriously injured while the driver and a second passenger were allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver of the Lexus. Additional information was not available.
