What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at Hwy 73 in Jefferson County, TX on August 22nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Investigators believe a Mitsubishi headed eastbound may have crossed over a median into westbound lanes before colliding with a Chevrolet pickup truck. The operator of the Mitsubishi, identified as 25-year-old Yordi Georvanny Sang and a passenger, 28-year-old Kelly Cristina Garcia-Albam, were killed in the crash. The operator of the Chevrolet, identified as 20-year-old Dorien Helms, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
