What Happened

Utah Highway Patrol officials released the name of the Rich County deputy that was injured in an accident on SR-30 in Laketown, UT on February 5th, 2019. Jon Nichol was injured when he was struck by a semi-truck that lost control. Nichol was on foot investigating the site of a previous crash involving a semi-truck going down an embankment when he was struck. He was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the semi-truck suffered minor injuries.
