What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at Philpott Rd in Halifax County, VA on January 16th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet S10 was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer. The truck is said to have been stopped in a right eastbound lane due to a tree falling onto the roadway. While stopped, it was struck the the Chevrolet after it allegedly traveled to the right of the roadway. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Joshua Wells, was hospitalized with injuries he ;after died from. The other driver was not injured. Authorities did not disclose additional information.
