What Happened

Area authorities released the name of the man killed in a garbage truck accident in Beckley, WV on January 2nd, 2019. 35-year-old Terrance A. Gober II was killed when his vehicle was struck by a garbage truck driven by 40-year-old Jacob Wayne Johnson. Police say Johnson was driving the truck with the lifts in the downward position and failed to yield to Gober in the Galleria Plaza area. EMS officials pronounced Gober dead at the hospital. Johnson was charged with negligent homicide for his role in the accident.
