What Happened

Phoenix Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Pinnacle Peak and Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ on December 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:17 p.m. According to investigators, a vehicle operated by 23-year-old Sarah Warren was headed northbound on Cave Creek Rd when it collided with another vehicle as the lanes began to merge into a single lane. The collision caused Warren's vehicle to go through a median into the southbound lanes before colliding with a truck towing a trailer before it was struck by an additional vehicle. Warren suffered fatal injuries while police say the others involved were uninjured. The driver of the truck-trailer combo was detained on a DUI charge before later being released.
