What Happened

Flagstaff Police Department officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-40 and County Club Dr in Flagstaff, AZ on August 4th, 2022. Police are saying it happened around 9:30 a.m. Investigators believe a motorcycle and tractor-trailer collided when the the vehicles were performing a left turn onto Country Club Drive. The motorcycle is said to have struck the rear of the truck and it's operator, identified as 49-year-old Sherif Gustafson, suffered fatal injuries. The truck driver remained at the scene for authorities and hospitalized. Officials say tests show no signs of impairment on the part of the truck driver. Additional details were not available.
