What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at Midland Blvd in Fort Smith, AR on July 29th, 2023. Police believe the incident happened around 6:11 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-550 was headed northbound on Midland. Headed southbound was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by by 53-year-old Jesse Lavielle. Police believe as the Ford turned left onto North St, the vehicle turn ahead of the motorcycle, leading to a collision between the two vehicles. Following to collision, authorities allege the Ford left the scene of the accident. Both Lavielle and a passenger, 21-year-old Allan Hickman III, were taken to an area hospital for treatment. While Lavielle suffered undisclosed injuries. Hickman later died from injuries from the crash. Police did not state if the Ford and/or its driver had been located.
