State Police are investigating a collision that killed a driver at US Hwy 167 in Saline County, AR on December 2nd, 2021. They say the incident happened around 3 p.m. A Ford passenger vehicle operated by 85-year-old Melvin Wilkerson is accused of traveling into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer while attempting to entered southbound US 167 from a private driver. The truck allegedly attempted to swerve left into northbound lanes to avoid the collision but was not able. Wilkerson suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. No word was provided on the condition of the truck driver.
