State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 164 in Johnson County, AR on December 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:25 p.m. According to investigators, a Mack truck operated by 66-year-old Merlin Auterson was headed southbound on Hwy 164 as a Kia Forte is alleged to have veered into its lane. The Mack truck allegedly veered right, traveling partially into a shoulder in an effort to avoid a collision before both vehicles collided. The driver of the Kia, identified as 52-year-old Sheila Vaughn, was killed. Auterson suffered undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
