What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 384 in Newport, AR on October 5th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:25 a.m. A Chevrolet Avalanche operated by 25-year-old Steven Poole is said to have lost control while attempting to avoid colliding with a Ford F-450 attempting to turn left on Jackson 258. The Avalanche veered from the road and overturned, ejecting Poole from the vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries as a result. Additional information was not available.
