What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-215 and University Ave in Riverside, CA on February 11th, 2022. Police say they were called to the scene around 11:30 p.m. Investigators say once at the scene, they found a Toyota Yaris with front end damage and believe it was headed southbound on I-215 prior to colliding with the rear of a semi-truck for unknown reasons. The driver of the Yaris, identified as 58-year-old Antonio Coronado was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck involved is said to have continued traveling southbound and did not remain at the scene. It was not known if the driver was aware of the collision.
