What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials confirmed a death in a collision at Hwy 145 near Kerman, CA on December 3rd, 2021. They say it happened around 7:30 a.m. under low road visibility conditions. As a tractor-trailer was pulling out of a private driveway to head onto northbound 145, police say it pulled into the path of a southbound van. The van, operated by 53-year-old Armando Flores Cruz, collided with truck as a result and became lodged under the trailer of the truck. Cruz suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Investigators allege that the speed of the van may have played a role in the crash.  Additional information was not immediately available.
