What Happened

California Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a bicyclist at Hatch Rd near Dallas St in Modesto, CA on August 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:15 p.m. A bicycle operated by 35-year-old Jered Freeman was riding ahead of a box truck operated by 27-year-old Kenny Lima-Galdamez. The bicycle turned left into the path of the box truck and the truck turned left while attempting to avoid a collision. The two collided and Freeman was thrown from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet and taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Lima-Galdamez was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
