What Happened

Colorado State Police have information on a crash that killed a driver at I-25 near Burnt Mill Rd in Pueblo County, CO on August 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened just after 7 a.m. Investigators believe a semi-truck headed northbound on I-25 when it left the roadway. It then struck a delineator post before hitting a guardrail and going onto a median. It then hit a nearby power unit before overturning into an embankment and hanging partially from a bridge. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Denzal Stewart, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Police mentioned they do not believe speed, drugs or alcohol played factors in the crash and did not have additional information to share.
