Authorities are investigating following a crash that led to a second crash at I-16 in Bryan County, GA on October 18th, 2023. Police say the incident began when a van collided with a semi-truck said to have been merging back into traffic. The operator of the van was killed in the collision. Shortly after, police say an approaching Amazon tractor-trailer collided with the rear of a second tractor-trailer that was slowing down due to the first crash. The driver of the Amazon truck was hospitalized with serious injuries, as was a passenger who officials say was ejected from the truck in the crash.
