What Happened

Clayton County Police are arrested a driver in connection with a hit-and-run at Walker Rd and East Fayetteville Rd in Clayton County, GA on February 15th, 2022. They say officers were called to the scene around 7:37 p.m. after an unidentified 14-year-old male was struck by a box truck. The truck, said to have been operated by 35-year-old Gary Wayne Freeman Jr, is accused of leaving the scene after the collision. The teen was taken to an area hospital and later died from his injuries. Freeman was later located and arrested on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, serious injury by vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
