What Happened

Authorities are investigating a shuttle bus accident that killed one person at Pier 2 Cruise Terminal in Honolulu, HI on April 12th, 2024. Reports are saying the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Officials say a shuttle bus made contact with concrete barriers and pedestrians after the driver was attempting to prevent the bus from moving forward after a drop off of passengers. Reports say the driver had just dropped off passengers and exited the bus when they were alerted the bus was moving forward. While attempting to stop the vehicle, reports say the driver pressed the accelerator petal rather than braking. A 68-year-old woman who was stuck was hospitalized with injuries she later died from. Four others were hospitalized with serious injuries while five others were treated at the scene. Additional information was not yet publicly available.
