Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured two people at I-72 near Pittsfield, IL on August 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. A semi-truck operated by 56-year-old Kyle D Dietz was traveling through a construction zone when it veered into a closed right lane. It then struck a pickup truck that was parked there with its caution lights active. The truck then struck 36-year-old Sam Williams who was working as part of the construction crew before it hit a concrete median barrier. Williams was treated for minor injuries.
