What Happened

State Police confirmed the death of a driver at  I-70 in Madison County, IL on September 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7 a.m. A dump truck headed eastbound on I-70 went into a center turn lane pulled across westbound lanes to reverse into a construction zone. A Volkswagen Jetta operated by 20-year-old Tiley Schreck was going westbound when it collided with the truck. Schreck was taken to an area hospital with injuries that she died from. The dump truck driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
