What Happened

Illinois State Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at I-55 near Collinsville, IL on October 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:50 p.m. According to investigators, a woman was entering a disabled vehicle in a right shoulder before she was struck by a semi-truck. The truck did not stop and the woman involves suffered serious injuries that she was taken to an area hospital for treatment of. She later died from her injuries.
