What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at North Jacksonburg Rd in Wayne County, IN on March 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened as 61-year-old Daryl King was filling a tractor-trailer with grain as a Norfolk Southern train approached. The train collided with truck, which forced King off of the truck and caused the cargo to spill and trap him within the grain. He suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Investigators believe King was unable to hear the oncoming train due to the mechanical noise generated from the truck. Additional information was not immediately available.
