What Happened

State Police have information on a crash that led to a fatality at I-70 in Vigo County, IN on February 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:41 a.m. Investigators say a tractor-trailer operated by 51-year-old Ramaz Chokeli was stopped on the interstate due cleanup from a previous crash when a Ford Transit van collided with the rear of the truck. The van caught fire in the collision and the driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional information was not yet available.
