What Happened

Indiana State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at I-74 in Dearborn County, IN on August 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:39 a.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck operated by 45-year-old Robert Bellman, was merging onto a ramp when it was involved in a collision with a motorcycle. Investigators say the motorcycle struck the truck before catching fire. Its two occupants, including 59-year-old 59-year-old Randy Roberts and 59-year-old passenger, Rebecca Oliver, were thrown from the vehicle in the crash. Roberts was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Oliver was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
