Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at K-27 in Sharon Springs, KS on September 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:45 p.m. According to investigators, a semi-truck was traveling northbound on K-27 while a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Nighthawk Rd. Officers allege the Explorer failed to yield and pulled into the path of the semi-truck at the intersection, the two vehicles colliding in the process. Both vehicles veered from the road into a ditch following the crash and the Ford operator, 68-year-old Trudy Unruh, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The other driver was not injured.
