What Happened

Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured multiple people at US Hwy 50 in Stafford County, KS on September 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:40 a.m. According to investigators, a GMC Sierra operated by 47-year-old James Lee Estes was traveling westbound on US Hwy 50 while a Dodge Charger operated by 36-year-old Juan Carlos Gonzalez-Saldana was traveling eastbound. Police believe the GMC crossed a center line before colliding head-on with the Dodge. Estes was hospitalized with what were believed to be minor injuries. Gonzalez-Saldana, 41-year-old Lucia Velez and three other occupants of the Dodge were all hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
