What Happened

State Police have information on a two-vehicle crash that injured two people at I-35 in Emporia, KS on August 17th, 2022. They are saying it happened around 3:20 p.m. According to their investigation, a Ford Focus operated by 34-year-old Tarrerae Grubb as headed northbound on I-35 approaching a closed lane in a construction zone. A semi-truck is said to have pulled out of the closed lane into a driving lane. The Ford reportedly attempted evasive action before vaulting over a median into a drainage culver. Grubb and her passenger, 32-year-old Karen Hitt, were both hospitalized with minor injuries.
