Kansas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at US Hwy 83 in Thomas County, KS on January 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. According to investigators, a vehicle operated by 45-year-old Yancy Sowers was traveling northbound on US Hwy 83 at the time. Reports say a semi-truck allegedly failed to yield and pulled into the path of the approaching northbound vehicle, the two colliding as a result. The collision left Sowers with fatal injuries at the scene, reports say. Reports also say the other driver, who was not publicly identified, was uninjured.
