What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a persona t I-24 in McCracken County, KY on September 14th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5:17 a.m. According to investigators, an eastbound tractor-trailer is alleged to have collided with rear of a semi-truck disabled in a south shoulder. At the time of the collision, reports say the driver of the semi-truck was outside the vehicle, waking to make repairs when it struck and landed on the driver. The driver, identified as 61-year-old Zurab Bukhnikashvili, was fatally injured. The other driver, identified as 67-year-old Saio Peters, was hospitalized with serious injuries, reports say.
